DR77/21-AZ Euivalent to D78 Traction Motor
DR77/21-AZ (equivalent to D78 Traction Motor) Traction motor was developed to support higher horsepower locomotives utilizing a new controlled wheel creep system. The most similar in appearance and size to the D77 traction motor. DR77/21-AZ Traction Motor manufactured by us is a series wound, four poles, forced ventilated DC motor with axle roller bearing drive and suspension, specially developed for Broad Gauge, High Speed. Diesel Electric Locomotives.

Suitable for high adhesion with gear ratios available for both passenger & goods service.
Arch bound commutator, dynamically seasoned, with L-shaped Teflon ring protection.
TIG welded armature with 100% equalization.
Polyimide film (Kapton), mica paper & PTFE tape based insulation for armature & field coils.
Main field and interpole coils bonded with poles for improved heat dissipation.
VPI armature and field coils in Polyester- Imide solvent less impregnating resin (Class 200) to obtain void free insulation.
